Rate Quotes & Time Estimates

Original indexing is charged on a per-page basis. The per-page rate varies according to publication type (children's, general interest, scientific, technical, etc.), audience level (beginner, intermediate, expert), length (short or long publication), composition (mostly text or a picture book, etc), and the deadline by which the index must be ready (rush jobs may be billed at a higher rate).

If major revisions to the copy are made after the original index is written, then time to make necessary adjustments to the index is billed on an hourly basis, again according to complexity of the publication and applicable deadlines.
